Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information EcomAI Tools collects, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. We aim to be direct and plain. No legalese walls.

1. Who we are

EcomAI Tools is a curated directory of AI and no-code tools for e-commerce operators, available at useecomai.com. For data-related enquiries, contact us at hello@useecomai.com.

2. What we collect and why

Newsletter sign-ups

If you opt in to our newsletter, we collect your email address and pass it to Beehiiv, our email service provider. We use this to send you curated tool recommendations and updates. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email.

Tool submissions

When you submit a tool via the Submit page, we collect the tool name, URL, category, a short description, and optionally a contact email. This information is stored in our database and reviewed by our editorial team. We use it solely to evaluate whether to list the tool in the directory.

Featured listing payments

If you pay for a Featured listing, the payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details. Stripe handles all payment information under their own privacy policy. We receive confirmation of payment status from Stripe to activate your listing.

Server and access logs

Like any website, our hosting provider (Vercel) may log IP addresses and request metadata as part of standard infrastructure operation. We do not use these logs for marketing or profiling.

3. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services that may process data on our behalf:

  • BeehiivEmail newsletter delivery and subscriber management
  • StripePayment processing for Featured listings
  • VercelWebsite hosting and edge infrastructure
  • SupabaseDatabase storage for tool listings and submissions
  • MicrolinkAutomated website screenshots for tool detail pages (no personal data)

Each of these services operates under its own privacy policy and data processing agreements. We have selected providers that meet appropriate data protection standards.

4. Affiliate links

Some tool links on EcomAI Tools are affiliate links. This means we may earn a commission if you click through and make a purchase or sign up for a paid plan. This comes at no extra cost to you and does not influence our editorial rankings or reviews. Affiliate relationships are not a condition of listing.

5. Cookies and local storage

EcomAI Tools does not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. We do not run Google Analytics or any behavioural tracking.

We use your browser's localStorage for two lightweight features that stay entirely on your device:

  • Upvote deduplication:remembers which tools you've upvoted so you can't upvote the same tool twice.
  • Stack bookmarks:stores the tools you've saved to your personal stack so they persist between visits.

This data never leaves your browser and is not transmitted to our servers. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

6. Your rights under UK GDPR

If you are based in the UK or EEA, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Deletion: ask us to delete your data (where we are not legally required to retain it).
  • Withdraw consent: unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link in any email.
  • Lodge a complaint: if you believe we have mishandled your data, you can contact the ICO (UK Information Commissioner's Office) at ico.org.uk.

7. Data retention

Tool submissions are retained in our database until reviewed and actioned. Approved submissions remain as live tool listings; rejected submissions are kept for a reasonable period to prevent repeat spam submissions.

Newsletter subscriber data is held by Beehiiv for as long as you remain subscribed. Unsubscribing removes you from future sends; contact us if you also want your address deleted from their records.

Stripe payment records are retained by Stripe in accordance with their own data retention policies and applicable financial regulations.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
